Three, four, six or nine tiles. Spacing, mixing styles and the one rule worth keeping.
Start with an odd number if the wall is narrow, an even grid if it's wide. Three in a vertical line works beautifully in a hallway; nine in a square owns a kitchen wall.
Leave 4–6 cm between tiles. Any tighter and the designs fight; any wider and the group stops reading as one piece.
The one rule: hold the palette steady and let the typography vary. Mixed colours plus mixed type reads as clutter.
